The snow, which has been falling continuously on the territory of the municipality of Ivanjica since early this morning, has not so far caused any major traffic disruptions, but the relevant services remain on full alert.
The President of Ivanjica municipality, Aleksandar Mitrović, told Prvi lovac Srbije that all roads are currently passable and that the machinery is out on the ground.
"All available machinery is deployed, but the snow is falling constantly and the situation is being monitored hour by hour. Access is more difficult in the higher mountain areas, such as Odvraćenica and the village of Dajići, where roads are being cleared, but conditions are difficult," Mitrović said.
He added that, with regard to the electricity supply, only the local community of Kušići is currently without power, where a wire snapped due to the weight of the snow. Electricity company crews are on the ground and the fault is expected to be repaired during the day.
This information is particularly important for hunters and anyone spending time in the outdoors, as many hunting grounds are located in the higher mountain areas. Due to the continuous rainfall and difficult conditions on some stretches of road, extra caution is recommended and it is essential to check the road conditions before heading out.
The first hunter of Serbia is appealing to all young hunters and explorers not to go into unfamiliar areas, or into zones with no mobile phone signal, to avoid any unwanted consequences and potentially critical situations.
